Growing up on welfare in an emerging market taught me two lessons that I carry with me on my daily work. First, access to appropriate financial tools and economic opportunities can really make or break a family’s future. Second, the stories we hear and tell ourselves are essential in building hope and igniting change.
Claudia is passionate about storytelling. She brings a deep knowledge of financial services and emerging markets to her role and is committed to helping organizations tell their stories clearly and with conviction. At Flourish, she leads global marketing and communications efforts, connecting the firm to the entrepreneur, venture, and policymaking communities.
Previously, Claudia was head of global marketing and communications for the Financial Inclusion Initiative at Omidyar Network, where she also advised portfolio companies on their brand and marketing strategies. Prior to that, she was director of global innovation and technology communications at Visa. With over 20 years of experience in strategic communications, she has held regional leadership roles at both Visa and Mastercard for Latin America.
A former journalist, Claudia started her career in Brazil, working for some of the most prestigious news publications in the country, including Valor Econômico newspaper, Exame magazine, and the local bureau of the news agency Reuters. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
